All right, so listen to me, this juicy orange does not belong only in the summer. This peachy tangerine will be a welcome pop early in September when the hot-and-cold weather still is at play. OPI has a new one called Suzi Needs a Loch-Smith or you might like the Insta-Dri in Peach Buzz by Sally Hansen. And honestly, these Insta-Dri shades are great when you’re in a rush—they set fast and hold their shine.
This one’s a total mood lifter. It does not need a lot of prep work or tricky shaping. Only maintain nails clean, moisturized and go on with color. It will particularly be adorable paired with brownish accessories or dewy bronzed makeup application.

Cinnamon Rose for a Cozy Statement
That cinnamon rose polish is a mix of brick and brown and blush into a color that simply feels like September. Warm, flattering, and romantic without being too sweet. And coupled with silver rings and with a something steaming? You’re set.
I would use Sundays No. 19 or Essie in Stitches. Then use two coatings of solid paint and then apply the top coating of high-gloss so it looks plush.
I’ve found this to be my perfect meeting-in-the-middle color. Not too red, not too brown, but just the right spot when you desire to have your nails appear rather chill making them mixed in that warm and settled after-summer atmosphere.
Pearlescent Sheen with Sweater Weather Vibes
This is the complete package of what I desire my September mornings to look and feel like, clean, warm and a little bit glittery. It has a base of soft blush-beige, however, it is because of the pearlescent finish that transforms it into something magical. It can be worn daily but when the light hits it? Total moment.
With this finish, my favorite polishes are OPI Funny Bunny over Holo Taco Aurora Unicorn Skin or ILNP The Harpist. It is nothing but a mere glimmer put on top of a neutral color.
And the secret to achievement of this pearly finish at home is that you apply a top layer with a sponge so that you can press in the shimmer as opposed to brushing it. This is what I revert to when I need something soft and different. It gives “quiet luxury” without trying too hard.
Black Cherry for a Moody Mood
This deep black cherry is the big brother of stock red. It is deep, vampy and has some awesome attitude… but it is polished to wear with the in-laws or the days you have to go back to the office. The end is a kind of almond that gives the whole thing that lean and clean outline.
Both Essie Wicked and the Gucci Diana Amber nail polishes nail this shade of sexy with a big dollop of high shine. For a more complex overall, experiment on a jelly polish formula-Jelly Much in the color of Dark Sangria is surprisingly staying power.
The use here is all, brush off edges on acetone-dipped brush to get that really salon-perfect look. I prefer to top with a gel like formula to ensure the drama is there to last chilly mornings and windy evenings.
I like to wear them when I have a power vibe. This color makes me feel like a main character whether it is date night or I am having a personal reset.
Latte Beige for Clean-Girl Classics
This is the timeless creamy beige that you will never have any regrets about. It looks like a soft latte color, a warm color that one can cuddle up to, but at the same time cool girl color that one can wear with anything. Short rounded nails make it feel ultra-modern and fresh.
Go to Zoya, Taylor, OPI, Samoan Sand, or Olive and June, GH. These formulas apply creamy and do not streak when applied with one layer drying before another layer is added on.
This is what I wore on an early fall coffee date layered with a giant knit cardigan and gold hoops. It is low-key but elegant the kind of style that is not loud but yet attracts everyone who looks.
Midnight Teal for a Bold Switch-Up
Feeling brave? Midnight teal is having a moment—and I’m obsessed. It is a color that is not quite neon all the way. It blends blue-green is a cool contrast to the leaves of autumn and blends with fall colors particularly well when your wardrobe tends to be beige, black and denim biased.
Off Tropic by Essie or Martini Olive by Lights Lacquer is dramatic, and Sundays No. 32 is more toned down in case you prefer a subtle statement.
Teal stains easily and can use some good base coat so do not skip it. Two coats has also proved to be sufficient to get the right opacity yet the magic comes in with the addition of a high gloss thick top coat. It almost looks like glass.
This is the aesthetic that I would pursue when I desire to have something new and still fall appropriate. It feels edgy, clean, and totally intentional.
Burnt Orange for the Trend-Setters
This orange is a happy burst of color in a neutral world, fall-forward and still bright. It meta-commentates on the way early pumpkin seasons early pumpkin itself without being too on the nose. This is exuberance, but it is also depth a wearable orange that can be found, but which is not considered a fad.

It’s my “let’s try something new” color. Wearing it instantly energizes me too, and somebody will always ask me what it is.
Dusty Lilac for Soft Glam September
So, this dreamy vintage effect is brought to early fall with this dusty lilac polish. Cool, and chic, and slightly sulky, but not gloomy. The soft undertone tones down the lilac into an ideal in-between shade and you can wear it after you are done with the summer but not yet into the pumpkin everything.
To achieve this you can use a workup similar to the Olive & June colour “JM” or Essie Ballet Sneakers. I am fond of adorning this color with gold rings, they help to provide that contrast which makes this shade even richer.
When it comes to cool tones, one trick I vow by is applying a base coat that cancels out any yellow undertones on your genuine nails. It helps such colors as lilac or lavender to remain true to bottle.
This one is my secret favorite. It just gives me a feeling that I walked out of an old bookstore with a cinnamon latte.
Steel Blue for Stormy Energy
Blue for September? Absolutely—when it looks like this. This muted, adult, and unexpectedly simple-to-match steel toned teal has given a new vibe to the combinations of the fall must-have neutral colors. It carries that brokenergy that is not too dark and it gives a nice relief concerning the norm of reds and browns.
Zoya has this with her Becca and Essie has it with Go Overboard or Lights Lacquer with Cold Shoulder. If your skin has cool undertones, it’ll really pop.
This one would require good top coat to get the gloss on it. I put on less thickly, and allow to dry completely between layers to prevent the occurrence of bubbles in the deeper coloring, such as this.
I take it on rainy weeks most of the time–that way I feel a little mysterious, a little warm. Like I’ve got secrets and good taste in music.
Cocoa Dust for the Neutral-Lover
This soft brown-tinged mauve is a September neutral dream. It’s not too warm, not too cool. And with a sheen finish, it takes on that luxury-quiet finish you will carry on your skin looking lustrous day after day. It’s the no-effort, all-style kind of shade.
Try OPI’s “You Don’t Know Jacques!” or Orly “Country Club Khaki” for a similar soft brown tone. This shade looks incredible on oval or rounded nails.
On top of that, you can use a drop of cuticle oil when your mani dries. And the healthiest nails and hydration make even the most spotless shades more bright.
This is one of those “goes with everything” looks. I have worn it again and again during work weeks or travel days that I have to appear pulled together quickly.
Chocolate Ganache for Late Night Fall Feels
This chocolate polish looks like a delicious piece of cake I would eat on a lazy night out and is the closest resemblance to how a dreamy weekend night would be. This brown shade is glossy and not black, but deep and making all the drama in a very wearable fashion. It’s giving candlelit wine nights and velvet blazers.
Make it Gucci, Gucci, Mogano, JINsoon, Dark Matter, or even do it with Essie, in Wicked Chocolate. These polishes are not dull as they brighten up time and again.
This is one of my favorite colors on longer almond shaped nails, it looks more dramatic. Put a clear coat over that that is gel-like and you won;t have to reapply this until you complete a full week in errands, work and maybe two dates.
It is what I normally don when I want to be luxe but cool. It’s got main-character energy without shouting.
Ivory Blush for Modern Romance
Leaving on a silk-quiet note is this creamy ivory blush which is simplicity in the truest form. It is a light nude with touch of pink and it feels as it should be used in fall bridal editorial publication- or even in your daily life just simply classic. Clean, serene, and always appropriate.
You can achieve this barely-there with Sundays “No. 2”, J.Hannah “Dune” or OPI, Lisbon Wants Moor OPI”. Put milky base coat under it to make the softness up.
