Well what if your autumn moodboard did not end at boots and sweaters? Suppose your toes–yes, your toes–had their time of the year as well? Fall doesn’t just ask for cozy. It asks for rich, unexpected, thoughtfully chosen beauty choices. The palette of this season pedicure is sultry whispering, velvet gloss and hometurning tones that seem right after the September sunsets and early November rains.
What then are the actual shades of nails that are to blend this autumn? The ones you feel you can wear but they still change how you feel, in a good way. Let’s go shade by shade, look by look. Because changing your toe color can do so much more than you’d think.
Bittersweet Espresso Drama
The toes in a dark chocolate polish have something risk taking and down-to-Earth, they are on the verge between suspending and bare to the minimum. The shade, which is a dark coffee-brown in a patent leather finish, is just that right amount of exuberance that is not exactly talking back. The autumn light is reflected in the best way by the high gloss. I like how it adds this super sleek, polished and almost sculptural effect to the nails. It is moody and clean at the same time and this is surprisingly difficult to accomplish.
I would settle on something like OPI Italiano renewal or Zoya Louise i.e a rich brown that can last well in a single or a couple of coats. And you need an extra shiny top coat-I prefer Essie Gel Couture Top Coat the one I personally use when I need that sleek, glassy look without having to go to the salon.
There’s nothing overly complex here, but precision matters. I always start with a good base coat (try Deborah Lippmann’s All About That Base) to prevent staining. Two coats of your color, with time, of each, dry thoroughly, then seal them all in with the gloss. When DIY-ing, don t forget a cleanup brush dipped in acetone–it is worth its weight in gold.
This color puts me in a mindset that I must be doing the right thing- even when I am simply walking across my apartment in fuzzy socks. I’ve worn it with chunky loafers and barely-there slides. It accompanies everything, and yet it does not seem to be obligatory.
Merlot & Champagne Whisper
The pedicure is deep wine colored, the luxe card is played to perfection. Understated yet daring the burgundy base has the velvet feel yet it is smoothed down by the hint of metallic gold on one toe. The combination sounds one I should have hated–but now I just can hardly keep off it. It reads like a quiet celebration… without being flashy.
If you’re curious, Olive & June’s “LD” gives a dreamy plum-meets-wine hue, and for the gold, I swear by Essie’s “Getting Groovy”—it layers beautifully and doesn’t flake off after two days. The thing is to allow the burgundy to dry thoroughly and then use the metallic accent. This way, the gold won’t dull or shift.
I tend to do my accent nail very last so I generally do golds by tapping the brush rather than dragging it, particularly near the cuticle- it makes that foil look more! Byrdie just cited celeb manicurist Julie Kandalec advising it to achieve a more “reflective payoff”– she is correct.
I think it makes me think of fall dinner parties or the first night out in boots when it is only a little chilly. If you’re the type who normally goes for nude toes, try this instead. You may be shocked to know how posh your feet could appear.
Velvet Cocoa Calm
It is the subdued hero of fall in a rich cinnamon-meets-milk chocolate hue. It does not holler hello but….. somehow….. it still gets it. It is warm, earthy to some degree, soft on eye. It has a soothing touch about it as well- something like a welcoming cafe experience in Polish flavor.
Dupe it with Butter London Moody or Zoya Dea. They are both creamy in undertone without tilting to the orange or grey directions. It is neutral-enough to be combined with any otherColor and never boring or “blah.”
My favourite thing about it is that I can layer a matte topcoat over it when I want less of a look. However, on days when I am in that I want my toes to get the last of the sun in September, the high-gloss version takes it. It makes sandals just look purposeful, not that you may have forgot summer was over.
Whenever I wear this color, a person will always inquire something about it. It is one of those shades that are wearable at any age, though a new way to wear it on me this fall.
Dusty Rose Minimalism
Wedded rose tones never fail to reappear in the cooler months, and this time in is different. It is smooth, a touch dusky, not very pink–which I enjoy. It is that type of pedicure that is the nail skincare. Chic, but effortless.
When I wear this kind of color I sometimes omit the second coat–it sheers off more, and looks natural, which is, queerly enough, the most flattering thing. My two desert islands when I want an in-between ballet slipper and mauve are JINsoon in Muse or Smith & Cult in Tenderoni.
What I’ve found is that these types of soft shades can really benefit from nail contouring (yep, it’s a thing). Allure did a thing on this in a recent issue-this is essentially what you do: paint a little above the middle(about a quarter inch or so) and leave a half-inch strip of bare nail on the side walls. The result? Longer-looking toes.
This is the color I don when I would like to achieve the effect that I got my life together even when I have a chaotic week. It goes absolutely lovely with fall knits, light scarves and that warm morning light through your window. Understated, but never unnoticed.
Sage With a Twist
Unexpected, right? Yet somehow sage green has been placed in the discussion- and it is not longer reserved to be used only during spring time. The specific color is dull so that it can be discussed as seasonal, and bright enough to enliven any neutral look. It is the type of shine, which leaves you doubting your regular choices.
As the shades of color match, I am quite fond of Sundays L07 and OPI This Isn Greenland. They are vague enough so as to fit the fall, but still contain cool tones that make everything interesting and cool. I would include this as an excellent transition color as well–a good color to wear at the end of September when summer has not yet absolutely gone away.
Pro tip: Apply this one with a light hand. It doesn\t look as good on a first coat to me, though I end up layering it on. Otherwise, it may get a tad thick and lose its softness. I never make a foundation of greens without a ridge-filling base underneath–it gives a smoother appearance and makes the tone look more luxurious.
I have recently worn this on a weekend away, and received way more compliments than I anticipated. One lady literally stood up in line ahead of me buying coffee to inquire of the color. Safe to say—it’s got main character energy.
Cranberry Crush Chic
This one lands just above the squashed berry and old wine- and it is offering premium simplicity. The saturated cranberry shade is cool yet not too cold and it still manages to be warm, albeit somewhat retro and quite romantic. It is not attempting anything too hard and that is the beauty of it. It flatters every skin tone I’ve seen it on, and it’s one of those shades that always looks a little more expensive than it is.
To get this look, I would use J.Hannah or “Nectar” or Olive & June with “AW”. These tints are situated on the border between dusty rose and cabernet not to lean too red. They’re super creamy and opaque in two coats max. And you like a matching-mani-pedi moment and you are that kind? This is your color. No brainer.
Personally I paint on two translucent coats over a thin base coat, then top it with Seche-Vite top coat-I hate waiting to dry and this stuff dries fast and gives everything this glassy dome effect that really makes everything pop. Pro tip I read in Refinery29: thin layers, allow drying completely between each. It’s boring advice, but it works.
I have been wearing this color to brunches that end up in wine tasting or long city walks which magically end in a boutique pretending to try on scarves. It’s quietly bold and totally wearable.
Cherry Firepower
Let’s talk about this red. It is not so shy and presentable and in some way also hotter in fall rather than in summer. It is not only red, but fire engine red, high octane finish, claiming “I am making a presence.” Worn with denim? Ugh. Perfect. It instantly turns a casual outfit into a look.
There is no hope of going wrong with Essie Forever Yummy, Chanel Rouge Essentiel, and OPI Big Apple Red. These have serious staying power and coat like butter. This kind of red polish should be given a proper prepping treatment, however–clean, shined nails with a base that fills in the ridges are a requirement when you want it to go on super smooooth.
When I do this color, I take a bit of time on cuticles prep. The night before I will spread CND SolarOil and follow with a soft pusher. Everything is brought out in red polish, therefore the cleaner your foundation, the crisper the finish.
This color makes me wear something when I need to come out of a slump. Bold, but not seasonal in terms of the holidays, it is more “I am here to kill 4Q.” Highly recommend if you’re craving a confidence boost.
Garnet Glimmer Spell
This dusk brings to intuition that it is a fall fairytale. Deep garnet base with red shimmer floating around in it with red on top- et voila, magique. It has got this shiny shimmery coating which reflects light in a most mesmerising manner. It is so deep as to be decadent, velvet on your fingernails.
To achieve this, consider ILNP or Zoya polishes like, “Black Orchid” or Blair and add a microglitter such as Cirque Colors Red Matter and set off to a blaze if you desire to add flame. It is a dark base, to which is added something changeable with the light. You want that galaxy-like dimension.
The second coat I add a red shimmer to, just a layer, so on the second layer I press the brush so the shimmer is even on my face. Then I use a heavy, quick-drying topcoat-INM Out The Door has been my ride or die. The result? What appears to be a pedicure that took hours, yet in reality took none.
It is the first time I wore it and I had combat boots, and I, quite literally, felt like a sorceress. It’s glam with a little edge. If you’re into moodier vibes for fall but still want sparkle? This is it.
Modern Moss Moment
There is an all-out olive green renaissance and it is not leaving in fall 2025. The version is enthusiastic, yet about halfway-at least-between neutrality and mud-like. It is grounding in a way, it recalls fall hikes and rainy windows and the smell of pine.
Look to JINsoon in response with “Auspicious” or Holo Taco in response with “Green Taffy” and you are close to the same muted sage/olive feel. The shades are best on shorter nails- it hits a happy medium that makes it look refined, rather than grungy.
I tend to use milkyand filler ridge filling when I am going green. Otherwise, any imperfections can peek through. I use the Top Coat of Olive & June, which does not shrink and gets dull after sometime. It takes light coats, and patience, to result in a smooth lasting finish.
What I love most about this look? It’s subtly cool. It won t always be obvious what color it is in a first look and that is where the edge comes in. It’s not a typical pretty—but it is striking.
Mandarin Flashback
Okay, hear me out: neon orange for fall? Yes. This insanely punchy mandarin orange would feel right at home in July- but when combined with warm layers and warm tones it transforms to this spirited, yet subversive bright dot of color that just clicks.
This look is fire using Orly nail polish color, Tangerine Dream, or Lights Lacquer, Slice of Life. I would recommend at least two coats–neons are a semi-sheer really, but the result is completely worth it. Bright but not childish. Bold but not chaotic.
I prefer to put this shade with gold rings or an anklet with a kind of simple shape-it is intentional and violates the summer inference. And this hue is also luminous on darker fall colors that include brown, taupe, and navy.
When I wear this, it makes me feel alive. Unlike the fun part of me never got packed up with the swimsuits. Brings loss of consciousness? Fall must be making you sleepy, here is your color-caffeine.
Blackberry Nightfall
A plum leafing rich gets different in fall. It is mysterious, sultry kind of phenomenon like a velvet curtain at dusk. And it isn!t blackened, only purple enough to remain vivid, dark enough to be moody. When it is glossy, such as this one, it attracts all the light possible and provides the illusion of motion on the nail. It’s bold without being loud.
Deborah Lippmann and Zoya colors have both put out legendary bases of this shade: the former comes in the form of Dark Side of the Moon and the latter in Lael. Two coats of these plums generally are best- the first coat may appear streaky, but the second balances out all the streakiness and makes it minty.
This tone I tend to team with a glassy top gloss/coat-Seche Vive Gel Effect is my absolute favourite in making my nails look as though they have been salon-treated (without visiting the salon). Leave the shape a bit rounded, to balance it out- makes the boldness a bit soft.
This gray is what I use when I feel like looking somewhat risky yet fancy. It is such a good fit with big sweaters and leather jackets. Even barefoot, it gives attitude.
Midnight Ink
It is not quite navy and not quite black but it is inky blue; a pure elegance. It provides big mid-night sky energy, particularly when it is low light. What you need is something seasonal but not burgundy or chocolate like so many others are doing, this color feels like a fashion curveball… and not a bad one at that.
To replicate this I adore OPI Russian Navy or Essie After School Boy Blazer. These blues are opulent, high-end, and low maintenance with regards chipping and touch ups. It is that sort of shade that is to die for notwithstanding when your pedi is a couple of days old.
Here’s a trick from celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik (J.Lo’s guy): apply your second coat slightly thinner than your first. It darkens the color and makes it dry more even intervally as well as does not make it appear heavy. With darker colors, that technique really shows.
Whenever I put this on people ask me whether it is blue or black. And honestly? That’s the point. It’s enigmatic. It makes you look closer.
Stormy Slate Sparkle
It is a grey-blue shimmer cloudy as moody skies before a storm. It has a little hint of iridescence underneath that makes it have some lift, that it does not feel flat or cold. It is more of a fun twist on grays- a gentle acknowledgment of color, but not jumping into it full swing.
If you want to experiment, give the “Danica” by Zoya a sheer topper of shimmer like the ILNP polish “Interstellar” or Mooncat polish, “Mercury Retrograde”. Such combinations suit that cool weather feel not full blown holiday glock.
One thing I have had to get used to doing with the shimmer is swiping it over the second coat itself, more like a veil, instead of trying to achieve opacity. It imparts to the nail this diffused glow so dreamlike in sweet light. And if you’re someone who usually avoids shimmer? This one might change your mind.
This polish reminds me of the fresh mornings and the first hot drink in the morning. It’s soothing, a little moody, and quietly eye-catching.
Muted Clay Sophistication
This polished taupe is the ultimate understated fall neutral. It has the splash of warmth, a pinch of pink and a little bit of beige just so the sophisticated side of things can be maintained. It looks clean, polished, and put-together—without trying too hard. It is the pedicure color trench coat.
As something akin to the perfect match, J.Hannah or Olive & June equals this dulled down color with their lovely shades of carob or HD accordingly. The are supremely flattering on the short toenails, and can easily transition you through early fall and into winter with no hesitation at all.
My one tip that I would swear, a ridge-filling base under nudes is recommended-that smooth as glass look you find in nail advertisements. And remember never to do the first coat thick–neutral colours particularly drag when pushed too much.
I pull out this polish when I need to have something like skincare on my nails well-hydrated and pared-down and classic. It is also my go to when I cannot decide on something- it matches everything.
Jet Set Noir
Sometimes the boldest choice… is the blackest. This jet-black pedicure is sharp, confident, and sleek. It’s the power suit of nail colors. And when done right, it’s surprisingly versatile. Season forget the old goth connotations black toes in 2025 are high fashion, minimalist and absolutely in control.
My ride-or-die black polish is OPI in Lincoln park after dark or Sally Hansens blacky O- they apply straight and do not streak. The main point here is a glossy top coat so it does not appear flat. I skip matte on this one since that liquid vinyl look? Just hits harder.
Black polish highlights all imperfections and therefore a consistent line of cuticles and smooth coats is a necessity. My cleanup brush is a small flat brush I dip in acetone this is the trick that separates the pros.
I am wearing this shade to a conference last fall and it received more compliments than my outfit. Something about it feels both bold and timeless. It says you know exactly what you’re doing—even if you’re still figuring it out.
Sheer Nude Whisper
Micro-existent and yet completely deliberate, this faint sheer nude shimmer can be thought of as the no-makeup makeup equivalent of the pedicure. It will leave your toes freshly polished in a glowing pearly sheen. This will make you feel like you are urban and wearing the right pair of socks and slippers even though you may be residing in tights and clodhoppers. It has a little sprinkling of micro-shimmer which reflects the light in the most subtle way so it has a bit of magic without becoming glittery.
My favorite and my most common combination of this type of finish is Essie Ballet Slippers with Zoya Leia. The bottom has that milk wash effect and the topper has that shimmer powder. Perfect as something to wear day-to-day- and easy, if you are between more extreme styles, or simply want a universally flattering style.
I donit bother with the whole process involved in mani this time, I just give it one coat of each and top it with a layer of a nourishing base. This is what I pull out when I am in a hurry or need something very simple. I will still use a glossy top coat however- it will seal that rosy, dewy look.
It is the shade I wear when I am hoping my toes look put together but not fussy. Cogitate: lounging days, visits to the spa or reading in your favorite sweater. Soft, subtle, and so satisfying.
Vanilla Glazed White
It may seem more of a summer edict but there is something so clean and shiny about this version of white polish, it breaks in smoothly in fall and it goes particularly well with concentric knits and gold jewelry. It’s stark in the best way. Clean, bright, and unapologetically chic. It also provides significant contrast with darker autumn colors such as rust, chocolate, or forest green.
A good fall white is Olive & June HD or Blanc by Essie (both pictured); they won’t turn chalky and they keep a high shine. The whites need a free hand and a thin coat of paint; I find that 3 thins are better than 2 thick.
There is one tip that I read and I will never forget on WhoWhatWear: when you use white polish, allow the first coat to dry completely. It stops drag and assists to create that stain-free opaque cream. Worth the wait.
Every time I pair my fall-appropriate shoes with white on my toes it gives me that chilly contrast I never knew I was missing. It is clean, striking and it adds some seriously underrated polish to any outfit.
Opal Glaze Illusion
This half-matte, virtually-translucent color has the faintest hint of opal shift–itty-bitty, iridescent particles that add some depth but do not overwhelm. It has to be one of those colors that you simply cannot do justice to it until you see it in motion. Think clean nude with a pearlescent edge. Under sunlight, it flirts with pink, lavender, and seafoam.
Milky Way by Lights Lacquer or Birthday Suit by ILNP both feel like that soft ethereal vibe that just has a touch of glow to it. These are ideal and transitional in autumn, as the sun blinds you at that low golden angle and everything is sort of ethereal.
Another tip I have learned using sheers is that, your work on preparation is more important than the refinement. It is all about buffed nails, cleans cuticles, and a ridge-filling base. This look is about polish enhancement—not disguise.
I wear this shade when I feel the need to be soft, open up and appear glowy. It can be done under the radar, but at arm s length? It’s mesmerizing.
Cobalt Cozy
Okay, let’s talk bold again. It is an electric cobalt, and a mood-lifter in fall, to be honest kind of wild. It’s bold, uncensored, and not really season-appropriate, but that is precisely the reason I like it. It rings against neutrals and even sweatpants seem to be purposeful. It is decidedly editorial in that the bright blue pedi peeking out of a neutral outfit has something of an editorial bend to it.
My favorite cobalts are OPI, My Car Has Navy-gation/Essie, Butler Please. These shades apply easily and surprisingly long especially with feet. You definitely require only two coats of a high pigment to have that wow.
The thing about such bright colors is to have a clean shape of the nails and neat edges. I take a few moments longer on my cleanup around the nail bed. A precise outline keeps the look sophisticated, not cartoonish.
I am a bunch more energized whenever I am wearing this. It’s like a shot of espresso for your nails. When you are fed up with wine reds and deep browns-this is your fall wildcard.
Cloudy Blue Mood
It is the visual representation of a soft blanket and a cup of tea in a soft gray blue polish. The base has a touch of slate in it to make it more wearable than your typical pastels and the finish is in this milky way that is calming with a slight creamy aspect to it so made to be worn in early fall. It’s quiet, but never boring.
I claim JINsoon Aero or Essie Truth or Flare to that blue-grey cloudiness. Such shades are best with silver jewelry or light-washed denim. It is one of such tones which correlate with the outside light in the golden hour.
Nothing glitzy, nothing glamorous: simply muted color with a voice of its own. I did prefer to keep the cuticle line especially clean on this and give it a light gel like finish.
When I am nesting I use it as the polish. These are the fall nights at the beginning of autumn when something in the air changes and you want to bake something because of nothing. This is the vibe.
Lavender Aura
This polish is a combination of soft lilac and a hint of violet pearl shimmer- it is literally the cardigan you love of the fall season on your toes. It is bright but not flashy and has a slight purple under-tone that comes out as one of those elusive quiet bolds that are as at home in the dressy moments as in the casual. It’s girly, grown-up, and a little bit dreamy.
Can only get this finish, do Zoya Hudson or Lights lacquer Lila. They dont leave that glitter but they are shimmery, which is a plus. These shades are best when you apply two thin coats and then use a high gloss top coat so that that shift in light can really shine through.
I wore it one morning to a coffee shop where it rained and I kid you not a stranger asked me where I received my pedi. It looked like it was lit by a warm light and it felt like the smallest extravagance.
Ink Denim Mood
It is a lot like a love letter to fall layers in this deep denim blue. It isn t navy, it isn t cobalt, it falls right in the middle great mid blue zone. Saturated, cool-toned, and totally unexpected on toes this season. It has that cool without trying sort of feeling that you only can get when wearing vintage Levi or your favorite over-sized button down.
I would suggest either Essie or Olive & June. “Booties on Broadway” or CN. You are going to want to go slow (blue polish does reflect every single brush mark). A smoothing base coat is more than excellent in this department and a glossy top-coat locks in that smooth polished look.
This is my Friday polish- when I want to put on something slightly unconventional and yet cool. I wear them best with gold rings, grey sweaters and layered flannels. Unexpected? Yes. But surprisingly wearable.
Glacier Pearl Chrome
This look is iridescent magic. The mirrored pearl base changes icy blue, lilac and soft aqua depending on the angle. It’s not subtle—but it is mesmerizing. The very atmosphere is cold and hi-tech yet very wearable due to their rounded corners and the smoothness of the transitions of the colors.
To get this very vibe, apply Holo Taco Barracuda base and cover it with Cirque colors Dream Within a Dream, or OPI Chrome Effect. To kick it up a notch you can use a chrome powder or chrome topcoat- but even simply a duochrome shimmer polish provides that same effect.
It is not my daily option, but whenever I want my toes to get a bit out-of-the-world, this is it. It is created to be listened to in the sunlight that creeps in your window, or in the comfortable candlelight in the home.
Peach Milkshake
A soft pink that might have an undertone of very palest peach–this color is simple, without being coy. It is neither pastel nor nude, but there is that creaminess to it that is warm and lovely in the same way it could be headily stirred into your morning cup of coffee. It is even softer in fall light, joining exquisitely with taupes, creams, soft browns.
Two light peachy-pinks that are acceptable to this vibe are Smith & Cult, Ghost Edit or OPI, Mimosas for Mr. & Mrs. Application Settle slowly–colours such as this are likely to go streaky soon. I never leave any coat half-dry, and when painting, I have a brush of what is called clean-up handy.
This polish is my go-to on weekends in early fall when I can take mornings at the farmer market, sluggish brunch days and jammie-clad movie night. It’s the nail version of your softest blanket.
Creamy Cashmere Nude
It is a nude sand that is akin to an ideal base hue in fall: clean, breathable and polished. It does not go out to grab attention, but it approaches that perfect hint of finish that manages to make everything you are wearing seem more fashion-forward. The pink-beige combination makes it not too soft but it is not washed out.
Seek out the color such as Deborah Lippmanns, or Essiee Topless & Barefoot. These are neutral classics that flatter all skin tones. These tones will need a smoothing base so that they can appear plush.
This is my reset week staple–it wants clean vibes and low effort with a high reward. I always actually feel presentable, even when I am in leggings and a hoodie.
Soft Glaze with Barely-There Shimmer
It is a subdued polish-of-a-sort design, mere pinkness shot through with some vanishing bit of light-catcher, something that makes it look pale-pink only when you walk. It gives out a vibe of, it smells like, my toes but better, but it is too elegant to be worn in day to day fall outfits. It is very brief and well-groomed, and the real nail takes centre stage.
This style does not demand much: a semi-transparent nail polish such as Essie or OPI will help make wonders. I prefer to top it with a micro-shimmer top coat such as Zoya shimmer topper called leia just to get the glazed-donut effect.
If you’re doing this at home, buff your nails gently for a glassy base, apply two thin coats of your sheer pink, and finish with a clear top coat infused with shimmer. Let each layer dry completely. Light in the fall is less harsh, and this color is even more dreamy during the golden hour.
Clean, minimal toes in the fall are kind of comforting. It is a calorie burner in between all this wild boots and black lips.
Crisp White with Bold Gold Accents
Who says white is only for summer? This knife-sharp opaque white pedi is arresting indeed when contrasted with fall textures, be that chunky knit socks or peeking through gauzy suede clogs. It’s fresh, yet oddly cozy when paired with warm-toned jewelry.
I paint two coats of OPI nic. opi Perfectionists nice color on to get this ultra-bright effect. 2 nic. opi Alpine Snow or Lights Lacquer, Paper Snow. A glossy top coat is non-negotiable. Accessorize lovers, this color practically cries out to be adorned with toe rings in warm metallics a light contrast, with a still-elevated quality.
Pro tip from a salon tech I trust? Use a ridge-filling base coat first so the white doesn’t settle weirdly on textured nails. White is harsh, but it is worth it, when it is this clean.
I can count how many times I have returned to white polish times full of transitional seasons. It transcends time but it seems especially sharp in the month of September when everything is changing.
Milky Nude with Subtle Chrome Glaze
This one is pure sophistication. Manually-dominant ground, with an ethereal pearlescent chrome on the top. Think of a cashmere cardigan and nothing but moonlight had an offspring, subtle yet soft and, unarguably stylish.
At home, re-create this by beginning with a milky polish, such as Olive & June TT or Essie Beige of Reason. Apply a top coat and once that is tacky add a chrome powder such as that of Daily Charme called Pearl Chrome. Buff lightly and gel top coat again to get extreme shine.
To get this effect, you will want nails clipped short and square, it is more clean/conceptual. I smooth edges/cuticle oil at night with a glass nail file daily to make the fingernails look like they just had an appointment.
It is probably my favorite minimal design of the season. It does not shout but everything that I put on wearing it feels more put together.
Classic Cobalt for Cold-Weather Drama
Dark, velvet cobalt is the craze, and I am not angry. It is colorful without being garish, hip without being frigid and pairs great with denim and leather.
This kind of tonal undertone, I adore the Zoya, Mallory or the Dazzle Dry, Blueberry Muffin which has that inkiness, that true-blue undertone but with a lot of staying power. The formulas also do not streak which is imperative with a hue such as this.
I prefer to prime the bases with a blue-tinted base color to keep it stainfree and paint 2 coats and wrap the tips so the manicure lasts. Finish with a hard gel top coat if you’re planning to wear boots for days.
In case you are more like me and fall seems to be your time to be a little bolder, this is the color. It is newer and at the same time, more earthy; it is a polished navy trench.
Steel Grey with Cool Undertones
That in-between shade between silver and dusty blue you know? That’s this tone. It is dark, stylish and looks so perfect with woolly sweaters and big scarves.
This family of colors Try Essi Cocktail Bling or Olive and June OM. These cool greys aren’t chalky- they are a little warm and so are flattering on most skin tones.
This polish also gives me color when in natural light hence most of the time I apply it during the day so that I get completed colors and touch ups. Top it off with a fast drying top coat to maintain a glassy finish, with the exception of the instance that your toes will be sticking out of socks.
Grey need not be bland, it is the neutral surprise that works well with everything color, leather, and everything you have that is cozy. It’s my secret weapon for looking effortlessly polished.
