30+ Fall Skirt Outfits Ideas 2025 to Refresh Your Autumn Style
When fall comes, there is something in the air, something in our closets. Do you still hold on to denim or do you secretly have your eyes on that midi in your wardrobe? Are we back to romanticizing the plaid mini or is the satin slip finally getting its crown in the fall collection?
In this post, I am going to take you through fall skirt outfit ideas 2025 that are fresh, wearable, and a bit rebellious. Imagine: layers that do not scream bulky, soft textures, tough silhouettes, and items that exude the vibe that we did not make an effort, even though we did. Every look has its own personality and there is something here that suits the cozy girl, the cool downtown girl and the girl who is just in her skirt revival period. Let’s get into it.
Grunge Meets Grace: The Maxi Skirt Gets a Reboot
I live off this type of outfit- it is a silent slay that is like fall in a song. Floor-length plaid skirt and a boxy leather bomber and lace-up boots? Yes, yes, and yes. The skirt is long enough to mellow out the entire mood and the jacket is that hard-edged 90s nostalgia that is everywhere on the runway this season, at Coach and Miu Miu alike. The white soft tank under it balances it out, and brings a hint of freshness to all that visual weight.
Let’s break it down: this oversized bomber is a wardrobe investment — buttery brown leather, drop-shoulder sleeves, and that worn-in finish make it look like something you thrifted from a cool uncle (but better). The plaid skirt is the sweet contrast, flowing and long with a structured pattern. And the black boots? An anchor. Go chunky with the sole. I have discovered that they make even the longest skirts feel down to earth.
I had something like that last year on a cloudy afternoon in Boston and I swear, I never had more random compliments in a coffee line. In case you feel too scared to wear a full-length, think of what Jenna Lyons once told: “Proportion is everything, so let something oversized balance off something structured.” That’s the entire charm here.
Would I add anything? Perhaps a ribbed beanie and chocolate brown or a vintage-looking tote to contrast. However, even without the add-ons, this ensemble has mood, movement, and main-character energy.
Soft Minimalism in a Fall Palette
The creamy knit with a satin midi skirt is so casually chic. It is pure, it is soft, and frankly speaking, it is what I would like to put on every time I am drinking cider under rustling trees. The sweater has a high neckline, oversized sleeves that make it look like a cocoon, and the silk skirt is like a sigh. It’s the ultimate blend of texture and tone.
I always suggest such items as: a thick ribbed turtleneck that does not engulf you, and a satin skirt that does not stick to you. And those creamy pointed heels? Unexpectedly fall-appropriate, especially when styled this way. Don’t feel tied to boots 24/7 — this look proves that bare ankles (even for a short walk) can be a beautiful statement.
This ensemble takes me back to the silent fashion moments when you are not even trying, and someone will come and say to you, where is your skirt? It’s giving Pinterest board goals. One of my friends who is in branding wore something very close to this fit when she was pitching her client last October the way it was both comfortable and professional? Flawless.
Add a statement earring or a soft leather clutch in case you have to take it up a notch. However, there are cases when the most daring thing to do is to allow the textures to do the talking.
Preppy with a Downtown Twist
This outfit is somewhere between Gossip Girl and your favorite fashion TikToker and I am obsessed. A huge sand-colored sweater and a flippy black leather pleated mini? That is the formula of cool weather chic that is not too done. Throw in some sheer tights and some shiny black knee boots, and you are on the brink of edgy and sweet.
We can discuss layers: the lightness of the sweater contrasts with the rigidness of the mini, which makes the outfit balanced and comfortable. And those knee boots? They add height and sleekness without feeling try-hard. I never fail to suggest the purchase of a good pair of black leather boots because they will take you through weekday errands to weekend drinks without any hesitations.
After high school I was afraid of short skirts, but this sweater makes it look contemporary, not adolescent. The key is in how relaxed the top is. It states, I have grown but still wishes to have a bit of fun. The three-word approach of stylist Allison Bornstein springs to mind here I would describe this one as relaxed, sharp, and feminine.
Go out with a mini shoulder bag instead of the big tote. Or put on a blazer over it when the temperatures are under 50. Flexibility is your friend with this one.
Plaid Mini, But Make It Punk Chic
This appearance is the fashion equivalent of a power chord, it is loud, layered, and memorable. The red plaid skirt is a staple of fall, but this time it has been hardened with black tights, chunky boots, and an untucked button-down that makes it have that downtown vibe. I think I have seen variations of this at the street style week in Brooklyn, and each time I like it even more.
There is a secret genius to this outfit: the boxy shirt softens the edge of the skirt, the tights and boots seal up that don t mess with me tone. I enjoy the chain detail that gives it dimension, it would have been simple, but that one detail makes it editorial.
I, personally, never knew how to style button-downs in a way that does not make them look stiff, but untucked like this? Game changer. This is your cue in case you have an old one in your wardrobe. The vibe would be completed with a smoky eye or a berry lip.
I would finish the outfit with some chunky silver rings or stacked bracelets. And honestly? You’ll feel unstoppable walking in this.
Retro Academia with a Parisian Touch
This chocolate brown palette is so ultra-refined, it is bookstore date in the Village, with a chai latte in hand. A turtleneck that fits and an A-line tweed skirt just above the knees? It is an eternal shape that never goes out of fashion and there is a reason why. It’s sophisticated without being uptight.
I adore the fact that all these elements are cooperating here: the deep brown top, the patterned skirt, the opaque tights, and the almond-toe ankle boots. Each element complements without fighting for attention. It is the secret when you play with dark colors: make it clean and consistent.
I used to believe that browns and blacks do not go together but this made me change my mind. I recall reading Leandra Medine Cohen once write, Brown is the new black, it just needs confidence. And here, confidence radiates. A red lip? The icing on this moody fall cake.
What’s missing? Perhaps a layering piece of coat or a cross body bag in deep burgundy to add variety to the tones. But in truth, this one can go straight out of the classroom to cocktails in one smooth transition.
Monochrome Drama with a Modern Edge
As soon as I laid my eyes on this look, I thought it was designed on one of those days when you have coffee in hand and errands in style. The stripes are high-contrast and bold, and the silhouette is all: a chunky knit with wide sleeves over a sleek leather mini, and the look is finished with tall black boots that are basically walking confidence. This outfit doesn’t whisper. It speaks clearly in all-caps: effortless, elevated, and cool.
The striped sweater has a little rugby feel to it, but made softer in texture and just a little oversized. It is something new when it is combined with a clean, minimal leather skirt. The knee-high boots are smooth, and the height of them is not too high to stretch the leg. And the quilted bag completes the picture, luxury but not shouting labels.
Honestly, this is a style I would use on a weekend when I do not want to think a lot but I still want to look good. It’s structured, but not tight. Playful, but not childish. I once stacked something similar to a day trip to SoHo – the pics? Still my favorite fall set to date.
I would add some gold hoops, nude lip and perhaps a neat ponytail to go even further in that direction of a downtown girl with plans.
Feminine Florals in a Moody Palette
You know how it is when it is raining outside and all you want to do is curl up with a good book but you are forced to go somewhere? This is what I imagine wearing. A loose, airy floral skirt in charcoal colors, combined with a loose sweatshirt, and finished off with thick knee boots. It’s fall romance, but worn in a real-world way.
The long ruffled hem and center slit of the floral skirt gives the outfit movement and dimension without going overboard. The black crewneck top is comfy, subtle, and rather stylish in its plainness. The boots? They add the style to the look, it will not seem that you are playing dress-up.
I have always discovered that florals in a sepia or dusty gray shade work well in colder months. This is not a spring print, it is deeper, richer, a little mysterious. This is the gateway florals, in case you are not normally into florals. Add a trench or a belted coat and you are good to go.
Cozy Layers with That Nordic Energy
I get Scandinavian-cool girl vibes with this outfit, neutral colors, bold silhouettes, no-nonsense. The contrast in volume with a black mini and a longline knit vest over a fitted turtleneck is so fresh. Throw in some black tights, chunky soled boots, and a crossbody bag, and it is actually high fashion comfort with urban street style.
I love mixing textures like this. The chunky vest adds warmth, yes, but also dimension. The crossbody is boxy and functional, it slices through the appearance and provides it with the vibe of I am out the door and I am on the move. And black tights in the fall? Always yes. They are practical, slimming and they turn mini skirts into something you can wear on cooler days.
There’s something smart about how this look is styled. It’s minimal but layered with intention. One of my friends that works in UX design wears this kind of outfit on coffee shop days and she says it makes her feel put together without losing comfort. I get it.
Throw in some slick sunglasses or a beanie on a day-to-day basis and you are all set to take on the cold weather in style.
Elevated Neutrals That Just Work
It is one of those outfits that can be described as a capsule wardrobe essential – classic and powerful. A black tailored mini and a statement belt and a soft mocha sweater that is loosely tucked in. Finished off with structured leather boots. It’s giving confidence without trying too hard. The tones are quiet but the silhouette is loud.
The sleeves of this ribbed sweater are wide and gathered at the wrist, which makes it soft. The black skirt is tailored, but it has a slight slit, which prevents it to be too rigid. And let’s not forget that belt. The thing to do this fall is to belting anything, particularly high-waisted skirts, which is so flattering and pulls everything in.
This ensemble brought me back to a Sunday brunch I attended last October, I wore something very similar and received more compliments than I anticipated. The lesson? Good neutrals and sharp silhouettes are unbeatable.
The only thing I would change here would be to include a thick gold chain or little hoop earrings. But even without, the simplicity speaks for itself.
Minimalist Sophistication in Long Lines
We can breathe easy here, this is a cool-confident look. An earthy brown high-neck sweater that is tucked into a black skirt that grazes the floor. The clean lines, the soft fall of the knit, the fitted construction of the skirt, it is what I would wear to meet clients or to visit galleries in early November.
This skirt length always makes an impression. It lengthens your silhouette, makes you look more elegant, and allows layering. The ankle boots and belt are black and provide form and shape. And the bag, simple lines, little branding, works just right.
This type of ensemble reminds me of the influence of Phoebe Philo resurfacing: intelligent, discreet, breathtaking. As one stylist Kate Young once remarked, Minimalism well done is the most luxurious thing. And that’s what’s happening here.
You might add a wool overcoat or trench or even layer a fine long pendant to disrupt the knit. But honestly? This one already feels like a moment.
The Urban Mini That’s Totally Milan-Approved
This ensemble shouts, I am going somewhere great, but not over-dressed. A fitted black mini dress, short sleeves and a tie waist is a super flattering shape. It is minimalist, yet strong, when combined with plain black boots and a mini bag. It has a certain appeal to it, you know, she understands her style, and she does not have to be loud to demonstrate it.
Enough about being timeless: black is black, but when it is tailored like this, with a sharp collar, cinched waist, and a cut mid-thigh, it is not only stylish but simple to put on. The heeled boots are not only high but comfortable and truthfully? This would take you desk to dinner without skipping a beat.
I have previously replicated a similar style to a casual networking night, not too formal but still good enough to feel at ease. There’s power in keeping it simple. As stylist Micaela Erlanger has put it: Sometimes the most iconic look is the one that allows you to speak the loudest.
Would I layer this up? A cropped trench or structured blazer would be perfect. Bonus points, should it be in camel or slate gray to contrast.
Prep-School Plaid, Reinvented
If autumn were a fabric, it’d be this plaid. A traditional checkerboard mini is nostalgic and sweet, but this one is polished up. This outfit is pulled right out of a daydream in the 90s, thanks to the creamy cable-knit cardigan and shiny burgundy boots.
It’s all about balance here. The plaid mini is schoolcore, but the boots, oh, those boots, are turning the script. Bold, shiny and fashion-forward, they take the look into the trend zone. And that cable knit? Make it casual with an open collar or add a turtleneck when the weather gets cool.
I wore something similar to this last fall during Friendsgiving and I swear that was the outfit everyone remembered. It’s playful, classic, and surprisingly versatile. In case Blair Waldorf and Hailey Bieber had a style baby- this would be it.
Put on a beret or a structured bag and you have the perfect fall fashion.
Leg Warmers and Denim? Unexpectedly Cool
Okay, listen to me: leg warmers are back, and it is not in a cringeworthy Y2K manner. This ensemble is serving cozy cool in a thick burgundy cable-knit and a washed denim mini. It is slightly retro, slightly weird, and completely prepared to be worn in cooler weather without compromising on fun.
There’s so much personality here. The sweater is loose and deep in color, whereas the mini keeps it fun. The slouchy cream leg warmers? Genius. They fill the gap between the boots and bare legs in the most fashionable manner. And those platform oxfords? Street-style worthy.
It takes me back to the college times when I would wear knits and denim without thinking much. This is that same spirit, grown up and refined. This is the one to go to when you are into styling with a touch of humor and whimsy.
You can absolutely just add an oversized coat or even a cropped puffer to keep you even warmer, it works either way.
Balletcore Meets Cozy Grunge
I love the playfulness in this outfit. A voluminous hem, a fluffy white mini with styling over a slouchy black knit and strong knee boots. It’s girly, yes, but grounded. Think off-duty ballerina walking home through cobblestone streets.
The contrast here is everything. The black sweater dilutes the sweetness of the skirt. The crew socks and mid-calf boots are sporty. It is the sort of thing I would wear to a casual brunch when I want to look like I have made an effort, but not a big one.
Many of the girls I know are afraid of white in fall, but I tell you? That’s what makes it stand out. It’s unexpected. This is the living evidence of what style guru Tan France frequently says, that contrast is the secret to modern styles.
Want to dial it up? Chunky silver earrings and a sleek low bun would make the finishing touches.
Earthy Luxe with a Hint of Paris
And finally, this appearance is like a long stroll in a European city in the fall morning. A top of a light beige color tucked into a black pleated midi skirt, accompanied by cognac leather boots and a cognac crossbody. It’s classic, polished, but totally wearable for everyday.
The pleated skirt is not too flowy to appear feminine but not too delicate. The top is a long sleeve one, but it is a bit loose, which does not make the look too strict. And those boots? The color warms everything up. I never say: do not underestimate the power of brown boots in fall. They’re a neutral in disguise.
I literally had something very similar on last fall in Barcelona, and was comfortable and chic all day long, which is a lot to say when you are sightseeing. It is one of those no-fail combinations that you can wear again and again.
You might add a trench or a wrap coat on top, or a patterned scarf to get a little French-girl flair.
Street-Soft in Army Green
There’s an unbothered coolness to this outfit. A boxy olive sweatshirt with a smooth black pleated midi, and topped off with thick-soled boots? It is the type of appearance that does not seek attention, but always receives it. The tones are neutral yet purposeful and the fit is casual yet sophisticated.
This skirt is a fall MVP. The pleats make it dynamic and the ankle-grazing length makes it transitional. It is paired with the oversized pullover, which is giving that tomboy vibe, but not sloppy. And can we talk about the boots? Chunky and bold. I would suggest to buy such a pair in fall, they are fashionable and weatherproof.
I adore such outfits when I need to look as though I did not make an effort, but at the same time, I am chic enough to bump into somebody significant. It’s giving weekend errands, gallery hopping, or lazy brunch. It would be complete with a silver chain, a slicked-back bun, or even a crossbody bag.
Shoulder-Baring Prep and Plaid
This look is all about balancing softness and structure. An off-the-shoulder black top (with just the right amount of slouch) paired with a chocolate-toned plaid mini skirt feels subtly flirty, but totally grounded thanks to knee-high boots and a rich burgundy shoulder bag. It’s romantic, moody, and made for fall evenings.
The plaid print of the skirt is dull and traditional and this makes it elegant. I adore the fact that the neckline adds a delicate feel to the look, it is a minor detail that alters the mood entirely. And the boots with a curved bag of the same tone? Chef’s kiss.
This is precisely the type of outfit that I would grab when I want to feel fancy without wearing anything that is tight or over-designed. Throw in a pair of statement earrings or a bright lip to embrace the drama, or do it basic to get that French It-Girl meets academia.
Timeless Volume in Tartan
In case you are in the mood of drama with dignity, then this full plaid skirt is a dream. It is voluminous and silhouette-wise, it is retro-elegant, but the warm neutral color makes it wearable today. It is paired with a black fitted top and sheer tights and it is giving modern Hepburn energy.
Let’s take a moment for this skirt. The length, the swish, the pockets(!) — it’s everything you want from fall fashion. And it’s so easy to dress up or down. It is polished with pointed pumps, but a chunky boot would take it more downtown. The top? Streamlined enough to let the skirt shine.
I have a form of this that I wore to a fall wedding once and was complimented all night. It is something about a little vintage fullness that makes you stand out – softly, but surely.
To give it a more edgy effect, wear it with a cropped leather jacket or a belt to make the waist even more narrow.
Modern Green Monochrome
It is an updated version of monochrome- experimenting with the shades of green and different textures and shapes. The ribbed turtleneck is smooth and anchoring, whereas the midi skirt brings dynamics in the form of pleats and rigidity. Brown leather accessories and boots add dimension, providing it with that earthy luxe look that is so appropriate in October.
The silhouette is reflective: tight on the top, voluminous to the skirt, and tucked at the right amount to emphasize the waist. The belt is structured, the bag is contrasting and the buttery leather boots? They’re the glue holding it all together.
I believe this is the type of ensemble that can be worn to a date in a museum as well as to a casual day in the office. The tone-on-tone dressing has a certain presence that is very of the moment. According to stylist Dani Michelle, when there are not many color palettes, texture is the narrative. This one tells it beautifully.
Would I change anything? Perhaps some statement earrings or some soft curls to work with the contrast. But as is? It’s giving elevated casual — with serious impact.
Pleated Mini Meets Varsity Rebel
And finally — we’re ending on a punchy note. Micro-pleated check skirt, white tee and cropped moto jacket. It’s sporty, preppy, and totally cool-girl coded. The socks in the loafers simply completes the vibe, it is collegiate, but make it fancy.
I’m obsessed with the attitude in this outfit. The jacket provides grit to the skirt that swishes. This is a brown suede color, which is more soft than black leather, yet edgy. And to go with this, neutral ankle socks and chunky loafers? That’s a runway-to-real-life translation right there.
I wore this very formula to a casual outdoor shoot and I loved how I could easily move around in it. It has youth, it has sharpness, and it remains fall-appropriate, at least on warmer days when you do not have to layer.
Want to take it to the next level? A red lip or stacked rings may complete it all. Or just throw a structured satchel over your shoulder to make it more grown up.
The Return of Classic Academia
I love the layering, texture and touch of prep in this outfit that represents exactly what I love about fall dressing. A spotlessly clean white button-down shirt with a beige knit vest, a pleated tan plaid mini and topped off with thigh-high suede boots. And that long-line textured coat? A cozy exclamation mark.
I would say, neutrals are the unsung heroes of fall, and this palette confirms it. The pleated mini has that school-girl nod, but it is not costume-y. The braided belt is the type of accessory that adds a certain level to the appearance. Thigh-high suede boots are not only weather-appropriate but ultra-stylish.
It was so close to what I wore last fall on a fall getaway upstate- walking through crunching leaves, with a cup of warm coffee in my hand, feeling like I was the main character of a romantic indie movie. That’s the vibe here.
Would I switch anything out? Maybe add gold jewelry or a structured satchel. But honestly, it’s already chef’s kiss as-is.
Effortless Girly Meets Subtle Edge
I cannot stop admiring the simplicity and fashionableness of this outfit. A loose knit of oatmeal under a dark floral mini, a wide belt, and tall black boots. It is soft, it is wearable and it is the evidence that florals can definitely be a part of your fall wardrobe.
This combo just works. The waist is determined by the belt and holds the entire silhouette. The skirt? Seductive yet down-to-earth, the print is understated, so it is cool enough to wear in cool weather. And those boots? Believe me, they are the transition between summer florals and fall fashions.
This is precisely the outfit I would grab when I want to feel like I am put together yet still like myself. The fabrics, the print, the silhouettes, it ticks all the right boxes but is not fussy.
This would be completed so perfectly with a low messy bun, dainty chain necklaces or a slouchy tote.
Officewear, but Actually Cool
Blazers and minis? Yes, please. This is an intelligent mix of business-like cutting and casual layering. A traditional pinstripe blazer on top of a grey crewneck and black leather mini shorts, sheer tights and chunky patent loafers. The atmosphere is mature, fashionable and slightly rebellious.
This is to the girls who appreciate a city-savvy shape. The material, knit, leather, and suiting, provides depth to the outfit. The tights soften the look while adding polish. And I adore the slouchy shoulder bag in the identical tone as the loafers. Matchy in the best way.
I have also attended a press event in a similar outfit and it took me through the daytime meetings to the happy hour without missing a beat. It’s sharp, intentional, and undeniably wearable.
Want to go bolder? Add a red lip or statement earrings. Or make it smooth with smooth hair and gentle eyes.
Denim and Leather for the Win
It is one of the coolest remixes of basics: a high-neck brown top under a raw-hem denim mini, and a brown leather bomber. It is an edgy version of fall staples, finished with pointed-toe boots, it has the off-duty model vibe without overdoing it.
Now, to be frank, denim skirts are making a huge comeback this season. The key is how you style them. The brown bomber makes everything warm and polished and the boots make the whole image sharp. Here you could easily add a scarf or oversized sunnies to add a little flair.
I wore this to an art crawl in downtown last fall and felt absolutely right at home. It is assertive yet friendly – and has sufficient structure to survive erratic temps.
Replace with a knit beanie or cropped hoodie when you want to go out to have a more relaxed day. It’s flexible like that.
Chic Contrast in Denim Maxi
Finishing it off with a perfect combination of casual and sleek outfit. A black turtleneck that fits under a denim maxi skirt with a high slit. Dressed in high-shine black boots, a mini bag, and retro sunnies, this one is ready to walk the streets of the city as though it is a runway.
This denim is tailored, and the fade is soft, which gives depth. The front slit gives it mobility and style and the black boots bring the whole thing to a higher level. The belt is interesting and disrupts the tones, it is the little details that make an outfit cute to covet.
It is that default outfit that you wear when you do not know what to wear and it always looks good. It’s flattering, strong, and totally fall-appropriate. And, denim maxis are actually quite versatile, too: they can be edgy or soft, depending on what you layer.
Wear a trench or a bomber over it when it is cold. And in case you like balance, your recipe is as follows: fitted on top, volume on bottom and a touch of drama in the details.
Neutral Layers and Classic Mini
This is a modestly assured appearance that is Instagram ready. It is a basic taupe sweater, black mini skirt, sheer tights, and knee-high black boots, but it is minimal with a modern Pinterest-perfect vibe. It is the type of look that you can repeat day after day and you will never get bored of it.
The pieces here aren’t trendy — they’re timeless. A neutral sweater is always a must-have and this one is just right in terms of slouch and structure. The mini is customized to a point where it looks deliberate and the knee-highs prevent it being too naked. Throw in a black leather shoulder bag and it is a winner.
This is the type of thing I wear when I need a no fuss fall outfit that still feels put together. It can be used to go on coffee dates, last minute meetings or even a casual evening out. Low effort, high reward.
Cozy Neutrals With a Pop of Print
Animal print in fall? Always. Particularly when it is done this way: oversized knit in soft colors + leopard mini + sheer tights + caramel ankle boots. It is a recipe that is both comfortable and spicy in the right proportion and it completely stands on its own in a season where neutral colors are the order of the day.
The skirt in this case is the show stealer, but it does not dominate. The oatmeal knit tones everything down, and those boots? They match the vibe perfectly. This appearance is evidence that leopard is a neutral when worn intentionally.
Leandra Medine Cohen once wrote that contrast is the most important thing in transitional fashion and I think this outfit is a real world equivalent of that. I would wear this to a daytime date or weekend market walk but with a red lip, it switches to dinner in no time.
Modern Plaid With a Feminine Wrap
The high-waisted plaid mini and a soft wrap top are so flattering. This ensemble is just right: the warm colors, crisp fit, and a touch of plushness at the collar. And suede boots keep everything grounded and weather-appropriate.
This skirt is a type of item that can bring you places, it is professional yet flirty, particularly when worn with a clean knit like this one. I love the subtle slit that gives the edge without being too flashy.
This is the answer in case you are like me and get bored with stiff outfits after a short time. Comfortable, elegant, wearable. Throw in a camel coat or a beret and all of a sudden you are bringing the Parisian fall vibes.
Warm Tones and Timeless Tweed
It is so fall-coded it is almost pumpkin spice in clothes. A knit in cinnamon color, worn with a micro-check tweed skirt, and a caramel satchel and a watch to match. It’s cohesive, chic, and full of that golden-hour warmth.
This mini is one of such skirts that make any basic. The fine check pattern is so flattering close up and the camel color way allows you to wear it a million ways. I adore the amount of contrast that the gold chain of the bag has to pop.
This is the type of ensemble that I would grab when I would want to feel sophisticated but still embrace that cozy-core aesthetic. It is ideal to wear at brunch or a day at work when you are meeting clients. This would also go well with a low heel or loafer.
Rust Knit Meets Prince of Wales Plaid
Finally, but not the least – we are finishing with texture, contrast, and a bit of drama. A rust cable knit sweater is a perfect match with a grey-tone plaid skirt which is very much a heritage chic. Throw in a leather mini crossbody and you have a look that can take you through the whole season.
The sweater is colorful and yet gentle to the touch and this contrasts the structured double-breasted skirt. I adore how the skirt has a vintage feel to it, yet the styling is so 2025, it is that high-low magic.
This is one that is personal to me, I recreated a version of this in a fall shoot and loved how flattering and rich it was. You are immediately seasonal, as though you should be at an outdoor cider bar.
Would I style it differently? Perhaps change the bag with a plaid scarf or gold statement earrings according to the day.
