The sheen on it gives it depth and the form presents it in a more contemporary look. It is one of those shades that instantly make hands look glamorous particularly in cooler temperatures.
On package, to create the same candy-pink energy, OPI offers “Mod About You” or Essie presents “Fiji”. They are both popular photogenic favorites on photo shoots.
On a practical side, long nails have to be based with a strengthening base to avoid chipping. Julie Kandalec, manicurist to celebrities, has said that the prep is everything especially when it comes to longer shapes-hydration and good filing is the key.
Shades such as this make me feel that I am injecting some fun into fall fashions. Even when coupled with the most uncomplicated piece, a chunky cardigan, candy pink nails turn out to be the point. They’re playful yet polished—the sweet spot of nail design.
Mulberry Glamour
One bold color that can break through the monotony of duller shades on long coffin nails is a rich mulberry that can add drama to your manicure when going out in a fall evening. The pink foundation is rich in colour with a berry tone that provides both sophistication, while the oval shape lends an extra amount of edge and glamour. It’s not just a color; it’s a mood.
To accomplish this I suggest using OPI “Mauve Over” or Zoya “Aubrey.” The same depth and berry richness is captured in both polishes and they appear particularly flattering in the warm autumnal light. With very long nails, a hardening base coat such as Essie’s Strong Start is useful to stave off breakage.
When using a more intense pink I prefer two coats, and capping the tops to lock in the pigment and minimize chipping. Manicurist Tom Bachik says that deep berry shades require the finishing touch of a gel-like top coat to appear luxurious.
In my case, mulberry tones are something cozy but not too warm to dress in knit dresses and wear boots. It is a shade of color that will automatically dress up the most conventional look.
Classic Dusty Rose
Dusty rose is one of these colors I never get bored with, feminine, sophisticated and so versatile. It gives an illusion of polished almond nails, but not too daring the shade of pink that just feels casual but never goes unnoticed. It has a fuzzy feel to it that cuddles up with the neutral drab of fall fabrics and fibers.
To this outfit, I decided to add a classic Essie color, Angora Cardi, which out of all time is my favorite color to wear during autumn. The other exceptional product is Smith & Cults, which is called Lovers Creep and has the same tone of pinkness.
When reproducing at home I would fill into a low almond or oval to give the color. Thin coats are essential and be sure to nourish the cuticles- it makes all the difference according to celebrity nail artist Deborah Lippmann who swears by moisturized skin to make nails appear luxurious, no matter what the polish.
Dusty rose is my opinion to weeks where I prefer balanced. It is relaxed and comfortable and yet somehow professional enough even to be used in a business appointment or a girl night out.
Blushed Neutral Charm
Fresh pink manicure on short nails is a manifestation of elegance. The toned down pink is slightly cool and it resembles the Parisian touch. On shorter hair, it appears clean and discreet, which happens to be the perfect reasons why it lends itself so perfectly to the fall season: It’s an understated sort of minimalism that is actually very beautiful.
To recreate, I would recommend Chanel’s Organdi, or OPI Youre Blushing Again. Both lend that balance of pink but in a taupe note that is classy. Shorter nails require more precision when it comes to polish application with the edges needing to be at least neat and tidy.
A tip I learned by observing Betina Goldstein: apply acetone to some detail brush to clean up the polish line around the cuticle. It makes even a home manicure look salon-worthy.
Wearing blush colors makes me feel that I have perfected the quiet luxury look. It doesn’t shout, but it always whispers elegance.
Hot Pink Accent
There are days when you just need to make a stronger statement and a bold shot of hot pink it is. On almond nails, it balances playful energy with sophistication. This shine gives it a fresh twist against a darker autumn/winter wardrobe, think of carrying a little sunshine along with you into the colder weather.
To match this shade I would recommend OPI’s “Kiss Me I’m Brazilian” or Essie’s Cascade Cool. Both are colorful but the color is tamed, not neon, which is why they come off as fall-friendly.
Application-wise, bold shades can use ridge filling base coat and glossy top coat to smooth out the shades to the maximum. According to what Jin Soon has said, bright tones should appear perfect or it can be left as incomplete.
When it comes to mood I find I can wear hot pink in autumn when I need an energy boost. It is jovial, adventurous, and puts me back in my place by making me realize how even on a gray day, you can change your mood.
Terracotta Rose
This particular mani merges rose with a grounding terracotta color to create a warm and homey vibe that reads fall. However, on almond nails it looks natural but contemporary, its soft coziness fitting it perfectly as the bridge between pink and the browns and oranges of fall.
In this case, the Essie polish in Stitches would be an identical match, or slightly more earthy you could also choose OPI Claydreaming. Both are fall classics.
The most effective manner of applying is to apply two thin layers over a moisturising base. To lock in the shine, apply a glossy topcoat but to create a cool twist during cool weather consider a matte topcoat to flatten it into a velvet like texture.
Terracotta rose is personally a feeling of fall on the nails. It looks great alongside knit scarves and suede boots and I feel that I have just entered a Pinterest board everytime I look down at my hands.
