I would suggest a lightweight mousse such as Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse at the roots and a flexible hold hairspray on the ends, so the cut is still bouncy. Avoid heavy creams—this look thrives on air and lift.

I got a similar cut last October, and the layers made a difference. They allowed me to wear my hair down or half up without it going flat. This color reminds me of freshly baked spiced cookies, it is cozy, nostalgic, and never gets old.

It is the type of hair which goes well with big scarves and hot chai.

Textured Medium Auburn Bob

It is one of my favorite seasonal cuts- a textured lob with deep medium auburn color. The waves give it some definition and character and the length makes it practical and fresh. The general impression is young, not childish, daring, not overwhelming.

Such textured bobs require some care to ensure that they do not appear frizzy. My favorite lightweight definition is Ouai Wave Spray and I use a diffuser to maintain the wave look. A curl with a flat iron on a few random pieces will help revive it on the second day.

This is my favorite because it is such a good in-between style, neither too short nor too long and it can be used in so many ways. The shade itself is a bit orange, which makes it look a bit playful and seasonal.

It’s ideal for city walks, fall markets, or Sunday brunch. Basically, it’s the haircut version of your favorite transitional coat.
